Fried Calamari


  • 1/2 kilogram calamari rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 5 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 lemon

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
In a deep fryer, heat oil until small bubbles appear.
Coat each calamari ring in flour mixture until evenly covered.
Fry calamari rings in hot oil until golden brown.
Place calamari rings in a tray lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Optionally season with more salt and pepper.
Serve with cocktail sauce or ketchup with slices of lemon.
