Wiener Schnitzel


  • 1 pound veal, cut into 1/4 inch steaks
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 lemon

Dredge the veal in in flour.
In a wide bowl, beat the eggs and add 1 tbsp vegetable oil.
Add preferred amount of salt and pepper.
Place bread crumbs on a wide plate or tray.
Slather the veal with egg mixture, then coat with bread crumbs.
In a heavy skillet over medium heat, heat up some of the vegetable oil.
Fry the steaks until they turn golden brown (4-5 minutes per side).
Drizzle with lemon squeeze and serve with a side of potatoes, peas and/or carrots.
